Pioli facing big doubt in attack for Atalanta-Milan

AC Milan face Atalanta away from San Siro in the second round of Serie A. Pioli has only one doubt for Sunday’s match.

On Sunday evening, the Rossoneri will travel to Bergamo. Atalanta vs Milan is the first away match of Stefano Pioli’s squad this season. Both clubs won their respective opening games with Atalanta beat Sampdoria while the Rossoneri made a convincing 4-2 debut against Udinese.

Stefano Pioli will make no changes in defence. Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu will form the central duo with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez completing the back four. As always, Mike Maignan is tasked to protect the goal.

Sandro Tonali has fully recovered and will be available for Atalanta vs Milan. The Italian midfielder is expected to start from the first minute after missing out on the Udinese match. Tonali is in advantage over Krunic to play alongside Ismael Bennacer who is a wanted man on the market.

The Italian coach seems oriented to deploy again Junior Messias on the right wing. The Brazilian should start alongside Rafael Leao and Brahim Diaz. The Spanish attacking midfielder will be rewarded for his excellent job against Udinese. The name of the striker is Pioli’s only doubt for Atalanta vs Milan.

Olivier Giroud has fully recovered after a small muscular problem that left him out of the starting eleven for the opening match. However, Ante Rebic did a fantastic job in the centre forward role scoring a crucial brace. The Croatian is in advantage over Giroud.

ATALANTA Probable XI (3-4-1-2): Musso, Toloi, Okoli, Djimsiti, Hateboer, De Roon, Koopmeiners, Maehle, Pasalic, Muriel, Zapata.

AC MILAN Probable XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan, Calabria, Tomori, Kalulu, Theo Hernandez, Tonali, Banncer, Messias, Diaz, Leao, Rebic.
